Bloggin experience

Maybe this is the last post in this blog, so today I will talk about the blogging experience during this semester in the English class. I can develop very much the write comprehension and my abilities to improve this language, now I think that a good way to learn another language Is with practical activities like this, so listening a talk and later write about it like we do once is a excellent way to put on exercise the techniques aspects of grammar, also write about interesting subjects is an extra motivation that becomes this homework in something more funny. In my personal opinion I think that write about our career or our favorite movie or photograph give us a better relation with these assignments, I enjoy writing about these topics and especially talking about my best friend because I have the opportunity to express little things of myself and think about important topics like education. In other aspects, reading the ideas or thought of my classmates I can knew more about different point of view or the interests of them. According with this I would say that the blogging experience has many advantages and good qualities and it becomes to me in an interesting and also a creative experience
In an ambit maybe a little lazier an a kind of trivial I would say that sometimes the requirement of have to write with a minimum of words was difficult in my case because it wasn`t easy think in more things to say in English (as now in this post), however I understand that do this duty is a important way to manage a good English and the ability to develop ideas.

Black and withe.

Today I was looking the blog of Tomás, and I realized that he used his own name to give a title to his blog. The name of the site URL is Curicorlz, I think this is because he`s from Curicó so he like very much his city. The first impression that I have when I enter to Tomas’s blog is of sober, I mean that the colors his choose (black and white) are very subtlest and they are also very pretty (at least in my personal opinion). Anyway, I think that he can add a little more of color to create a nice contrast between black and some colors.

Within the nine posts of Tomás there is one that I like it very much, the name of this post is “A nice place” and that was the same tough that I have when I read it because he talk about a trip that he do with his family to a beach that is located far away of the human settlement, I love when he talks of the moon and the beautiful and fantastic view that this place has of it, this make me thought in the nice view that you can find on the field.
Well, there is also another thing that I like of this blog, this is the good pictures that Tomás always add to his post , I think he takes some dedication when he choose the picture. With regards to the grammatical and technique part I would say that he has a lot of abilities to develop ideas but sometimes He forgets to pay attention to the tenses, this is an aspect that I also do, so we both have to improve it.

Creativity

Ken Robinson, in a talk about creativity and school raised and interesting point of view about the 2 topics and the relation there is between this two concepts, he says that school kills creativity, the principal reason he give is because traditional education is center on traditional areas like math and language so the all word is around this. The objective of the education is prepare to someone to enter to the university, but when people think in the most important and necessary careers almost everyone think in this two areas. In other aspect, creativity is seen like something wrong, and everybody is afraid to be wrong so the formal institutions of education, like schools doesn’t give too much importance to art, and doesn’t focus in develop this area.

I think that this point of view is very pertinent. If we just think in the subjects of school, math, language and science has more time in the schedule. The education must point at the complete and integral development of a person, and then the student will be able to choose an activity, so these three things (Math, language and art) must have the same kind of importance. The intelligence need to be seen as a way to solve problems and also to display innovation and creativity, Like Ken says intelligence is diverse and dynamic
In the example of the girl who like to dance is very clear the importance of other areas according to each person. If someone will tell her to calm down, she wouldn’t develop her talent and creativity with dance.

Photographs =)

I love photographs and cameras, the capacity and ability they have to capture moments and show expressions, emotions, feelings, light and colors is fantastic, also in many opportunities when you look a photo you can be many time watching it and discovering the details that revels is real content. So photographs has an emotional and an esthetic value that make me be very interest on this.

This photograph was taken for me a year ago, I remember I was with my family in my aunt’s house, it was starting to get dark, I look outside and I saw a great view of Santiago and a beautiful sunset with big mountains in the background, so I decided go out with my camera and take the photo, I took a lot of pictures because the first ones seems to me to much blurred, the reason was that the scenery didn’t has the light necessary, and I didn’t had a tripod so I cant move myself and I have to be very calm.

The 4th or 5th attempt was the good one son I can finally take the photo without move myself, and I like pretty much the results because the lights of Santiago appears very little and the contrast between the mountain and the sky was very amazing to me. The panoramic and nice view of Santiago makes me think that is not a ugly city like I often think

Days after I show this picture to a good friend of my and he like it a lot, so this was his birthday gift.

My best friend is Daniela Chacón but everyone call her Dicha, We knew each other since 2001, the year that she enters to my class. We started to be best friends a year later and since that date until today we had never had a big argument, I think this is because we share many things like music, movies, literature, and taste in food and clothe and we both have relaxes personalities .

Like we love the same kind of music she´s an unconditional partner to go to concerts or just sing nice songs while we are doing anything, we also enjoy going to the same kind of places, and we love go to new and different parts of Santiago with 2 of our friends, Cami and Paulina (Who also appears in the picture). In winter vacations we used to go to the beach the four of us so this are moments that I always remembered.


Dicha study at the UMCE, so in this year, the first year that we are not studding together we try to make us a little time to have lunch together or just a minutes to drink a coffee and have a nice conversation.

She has a specially personality because she’s quiet an peaceful but she also is very funny and has an agile humor, she thinks pretty different to other people so that’s a characteristic that make us good friend

She’s always a connection with the earth for me, specially when I started to complicate myself with everything she always has a good advice for me. I think that this is a difference between us, that she’s more practical. But this difference make a good balance in a frienship.

Psychology

To be a psychologist you need a special ability to listen people and be interest in the human problems, I mean, problems of the society and the individual ones, and also be a person with an open mind. I think that you must enter to this career with these abilities. In other aspects you need a good capacity reading; I hope this skill can be learning during the first or second year.

Psychology is a social science, so is very important find in the program of the career subjects that can establish a connection with the deferments kinds of social sciences, like history, sociology or anthropology with psychology, so the student will be able to has an outlook of the social problems. The university gave to us this but in a incomplete way, because we have the subjects but this connection is missing. To this career is missing to better programs of final activities after the 4th year, is very clear that subjects in this year need more quality. But a good element in this university is that there is not doubt that here you can find an excellent social environment.

In this moment I feel that in the future I can develop the psychology in many ways an areas, in my case im very interesting in Social Psychology but first, I want learn things of all the areas to be a psychology with more knowledge.

To take pictures.

I don’t like technology very much, I mean … I’m on favor of the technology as a way to develop innovation and creation but in our society the technology has transformed in a vital necessity of the man. However today I’m going to write about my favorite piece of technology and this is (I think) my digital camera.

I bought this camera on February 2009, with some money that I earn during the summer and immediately I started to take a lot of pictures, I remembered that a few days later, I went to the south for holidays so I can take a lot of nice pictures of the south. I like this camera because has a lot of manual and automatic programs to take pictures, so I can learn more of photography and also keep good captures of places or moments.

When I go out and I don’t take with me my cam, there’s always a moment during the day when I think that I would like had bring it because there’s always little places of the city that deserves be captured.In the summer I was in Buenos Aires, so my camera was with me the hall trip and was very interesting try the manuals programs to photograph this beautiful city. After I started my classes (when I have more time than now) I used my camera with frequently but now I don’t have much time to go out and take pictures and sometimes Im very bored without it.

In the south.

I`d like to talk about a nice and special place in Chile, this is National Park Conguillio and it`s located in the IX region of Chile. The name of the park has relation with the native language of this area, the Mapudungun, so Conguillio means water with pine nut .In this park there´s an important native wood, and here you can find Alerces, millenary Araucarias, Robles, Coigües, etc. You can enjoy too a privileged view of the Llaima Volcano, see the wonderful lakes like “Laguna arcoíris” or “Laguna Verde” and you can also swim on the Conguillio Lake like I did. This is a perfect place to take pictures, to walk around the nature and breathe the south air.

I think this is one of the most beautiful places in our country because the peaceful that the nature transmitted is incredible, I believe that in the south of Chile you can feel the nature and the green on it with all their intensity trough the trees, the rain, the lakes, the flowers and the few intervention of the man. I feel a huge happiness when I´m in the south.

The first time that I went there I was very little, maybe 3 or 4 years and I went with my family for holidays, the last time that I went was on February, 2009. I would like come back to this place and to the south in general.

Deep and simply as Benedetti.

Well, today I have to write about an important person, I mean, about a person who I admire in some way. So like I’m very interesting in literature I’m going to talk about Mario Benedetti, He was a Uruguayan writer who wrote poetry, novels, plays, essays, political articles, and polemical songs and also short stories. He was one of the most representative author of the "Generation of 1945".

He died on May 17, 2009 in his house in Montevideo.

With his political articles he can show is socials preoccupation, whit his narrative he captured all the idiosyncrasies of the Uruguayan middle class, and with his poetry he displayed the creative and delicate of his work.

I think that the things that I most admire of him, are his simply but deep sense to write about daily things as love, kids, friends or just life, so for this reason Benedetti is a writer who can touch to every person.

There’s a short story that I like very much, and is name is “Esa boca” and is about a kid who wanted to go to the circum and see the clowns, but when they parents decided to take him, He found the real lines of expression of sadness in the clown´s mouth.

Problems in education-

We all know that education it’s an important topic for our society, since a long time ago people starting to debate about this, but Why its education a subject so important? I really think that a good education is a human right and has many relevance because the education it’s the base of the life, I mean that the big social differences are (in many cases) provoked by the good or bad education that people received in their life. According to this, we can say that In Chile there is a big difference between private and state schools, because the private school put emphasize in the quality of the education so they cost more than others schools , But not everyone can paid for this, so the great majority of people send their kids to state school that sometimes are not dedicated to give theirs students the best education. In my case, I studied on a private school so I think I received a rather good education.
With the universities the situation it’s the opposite, Public universities are better than privates (in the majority of the cases)But a big percent of students who can enter to the university (and improve their quality of life) became form private school, so in this way it’s the same. Like I said, I think this an important topic and people , especially for students who are always doing demonstration about the subject , but I’m not sure about the real attention that the government is putting on this-

Cinema Paradiso, an excellent film =)

I like pretty much the films, so in this occasion it’s a little difficult to me choose only one , but definitely one of my favorites movies is “Cinema Paradiso” directed in 1988 by Giuseppe Tornatore an Italian director (Who also written the film) . The first time I saw this movie was at school in my language class when I was 14 years.
The plot its writing like a “raconto” so that’s an element who keeps you interested during the movie. The things that I most liked of the movie was the special and lovely personality of the kid in the story, called Toto who loves films and has an innocent way to see the cinema and all the magic there is behind this. Later Toto starting to work at the cinema but when he grow up felt the need to look for his dreams, so Toto left his town and his family, This scene moved my feelings in a great way.
The sound tracks it’s an important element in the cinema, that in many cases establish a big difference between two movies with good plots, and “Cinema Paradiso” has a wonderful soundtrack, composed by an excellent musician, Ennio Morricone.

So, liked I said this movie is very emotional and every time I see it I have the same feeling of happiness and commotion that I felt the first time.

BBC

Today in my English class I have to visited an internet page, is name is BBC. At first, I thought it will be very boring but when I started to look around this page I realize that this is a really good page to learning english because it’s very didactic and it has a lot of exercises and quizzes about grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. This can really help people who are learning english and it becomes in a good tool that anyone can use in any time.

I started listening something called “Face up to phrasals” I linked that page and suddenly appears a lot of series divided on episodes, so I clicked on one of the series is name was “Fred and Betty, Is this the end?” it was around ten episodes of a story about a couple that have been dating for many time and one day they have a big fight. This serie was funny but when I saw all the episodes I thought that the end was very boring.
So, I change the link and I started to play on “Grammar challenge”, an interesting and funny play. Maybe I will play it again in a future.

Me.

A little about me, my name is Rocío, I finished High school the last year and now I´m in 1th year of Psychology because I always was interesting in the social sciences. In my free times I´m often taking pictures, painting, listening to music , reading (something of poetry, Latin American literature and lately, a lot of texts for the University) or just doing nothing.
I have two sisters, Francisca and Antonia. I´m the middle sister.

About my expectations, I really hope pass this class.
